Barcelona city centre is just one hour away from Girona Airport. It is the capital city of Catalonia and the second largest city in Spain, with a population of over 1,600,000 people. It is an exciting city overflowing with culture, character and variety, whose architecture ranges from Roman buildings to the modern works of Gaudi, from the windy paths of the Barrio Gotico to the gridded streets of the elegant Eixample district. It sits right on the coast, and is surrounded by mountains.  We recommend you spend at least three nights there to enjoy the many attractions on offer.
